Hi, I’m Alicia, a proud queer veteran and lifelong animal lover with a deep respect for the quiet language animals speak.

Animals have always been my steady place. I’m the one who sits on the ground and waits. Who notices the ear flick, the subtle tail shift, the change in breathing. I believe trust is not taken, it is earned slowly and gently.

My approach is rooted in patience, observation, and consent. No forcing. No rushing. Just meeting each animal exactly where they are. Whether that means a peaceful neighborhood walk, a slow introduction, or simply sharing space until comfort grows.

That connection goes back as far as I can remember. In my teens, I began pet sitting and dog walking for other people, and that part of my life has continued ever since. The dogs and cats I’ve cared for have each taught me something different about the routines that matter to them, the company they enjoy, and the little things that help them feel comfortable.

That is the heart behind The Soft Side of Wild. Creating experiences where curious creatures feel supported, understood, and at home. Every wag. Every purr. Every brave step forward matters to me.
